‘Downton Abbey 3’ Set for September 2025 Release

The beloved Crawley family and their devoted staff are set to return to the big screen as Downton Abbey 3 officially receives a global release date of September 12, 2025. Focus Features has confirmed that the highly anticipated third installment of the cinematic continuation of the hit British TV series is currently in production in the U.K.

Returning Cast and Crew

Downton Abbey 3 will once again be written by series creator Julian Fellowes, ensuring the film stays true to its roots. Simon Curtis, who directed Downton Abbey: A New Era (2022), is back to helm the project.

The film will see the return of fan-favorite cast members, including Hugh Bonneville, Michelle Dockery, Elizabeth McGovern, Laura Carmichael, Jim Carter, Phyllis Logan, Joanne Froggatt, Allen Leech, and Penelope Wilton, among many others. Notably, Dominic West, who played a silent movie star in the second film, will also reprise his role.

Adding to the excitement, Paul Giamatti will return to Downton Abbey after previously appearing in the original TV series as Harold Levinson.
